Our Methodist Church Family
We are delighted to be part of the Burnley and Pendle Methodist Circuit. We have links with the 16 churches in our circuit.
Foundation Governors are appointed by the circuit and we are blessed by people willing to take on this huge responsibility from Churches across the circuit.
The Circuit Superintendent, Rev Rick Ormerod is an occasional visitor to our school. Someone from the Circuit leads our worship on a weekly basis and we are well supported with all aspects of our Christian ethos and vision. Mrs Maureen Thornborrow has been a much valued friend and visitor to our school. She regular meets and greets parents in a morning and bakes us delicious cakes too!
Our School Chaplain is Rev Adrian Perry.
Our pastoral assistant is Mrs Stella Brassington.

We are also part of the wider Methodist Family in being a member of Epworth Education Trust. We joined the Trust in April 2024 and have found being part of this multi-academy trust to enhance what we can provide for children and staff. We are early in our journey and look forward to the support and challenge from the Trust.
Wheatley Lane Methodist Church
Since the school opened in 1869 we have had mutually supportive links with “the church next door”. Due to its proximity to the school we are blessed with a wealth of volunteers from Wheatley Lane Methodist Church who give their time and their talents to support us. We love that they feed us with delicious cakes and give us practical support as well as accompanying us on our spiritual journey.
